wife swap weekend

what does it mean when you feel more tired on sunday evening than you felt on friday afternoon? in my case this means that i spent my weekend with my crew on the location of wife swap - the production i am currently working on. i love filming and all that comes with it, so who cares that i am knackered and that the new week is about to begin with no rest por moi. when you have a good time and you feel like you spend your weekend purposely, it's worth it.

and because, i believe that in my case, pictures say more than words, here they are to sum up my weekend...

saturday AM - leaving the capital to meet my crew in sala, roughly 60 km's/ 40mins on the train.

saturday PM - we travelled to a local farm (sounds more fancy than it actually was) with plenty of not at all groomed dogs who were seriously strange...

this is the little lamb we had for dinner yesterday and lunch today. i had a moment of weakness though, it was just so cute :(

i could not resist taking a picture of these oddly looking clocks. they are someone's real decoration, can you believe it?! :)

and second to the last one is a memory of the ending evening (almost morning) in the hotel lobby. we befriended the receptionist, a 50 year old very talkative woman, and this polar bear family. they are my favourite find of this weekend. apparently they were given to the hotel by one guest who wanted to express his gratitude. cheers guys!

oh well, you can't enter the day without breakfast, can you?

last week of february is upon us, the winter seems to be almost over - i feel like i totally missed it (apart from few freezing days) - so let's make the most out of it. will be back in march! x

birth town of bratislava

i might have sneaked out for a while but this means that "hurray" there is a new job venture for me. and who would have ever guessed this new challenge would be waiting for me in the town where i was born. so here i am in bratislava. i was very apprehended about living here, i wasn't sure if or how i would fit in. well, i can't say that i am settled or anything like that as i don't really have many friends living here with whom i can hang out, but it's not as bad as i imagined. i miss the social life i had in prague that is for sure, spending most of my free time with my grandma or my (new:) macbook is not fulfilling. i am planning many weekend trips to my town though, hopefully this weekend will be mine!

let's take a look at few snaps from blava:

this is my favourite pharmacy, since i was a child, i loved to go there and hoped one day this will be mine, i loved the smell inside, it was so so cool! oh well, i'm not a pharmacist and this place is a wreck now - who knows though, one day i get rich, buy it, refurb it and find myself a pharmacist to run it :)

i also have to mention my BF who came to see me, so i can socially interact, go out for a drink and have lovely post breakfast coffee and cake in my favourite little coffee place shtoor
ta for coming over b.

and the last one is of me and my new glasses. yes! finally after millions of years of having rubbish glasses that i was ashamed to take out on the street, i managed to get myself new ones. do you like them? i certainly do :)

sunny time in the mountains

so i was invited to visit my friends and their parents in a lovely new build cottage in jizerske hory. and since i don't have a car, i had to figure out how to get there by bus, strangely it was pretty straightforward and in under two hours i was there. and it was not even midday, it was freezing and sunny and there was snow everywhere. lots of snow. it was like being in a little winter fairytale.

when i woke up the next day, i had to get some fresh mountain air to my room, the sun was just rising, it was amazing!

unfortunately for me, i have arrived with bit of a cold (and lost my voice during the first night), so i was not able to enjoy the nearby ski slope. i did not stay at home though, i had to at least check out the local "ski-stall" and their "krakonosuv kelimek" (cappucino with amaretto) - they also sell another crowd-pleaser "vlekarovo tajemstvi" (hot chocolate with coconut liquer) - i will definitely have that one next time when i return there :)

overall it was a great day and a half, i wish i had more time to stay there longer. it was not just the snow and the surroundings that i have enjoyed, it was the company too. very nice time i had.
